The Library cannot provide “ Function Room “ accommodations similar to hotels or other halls.
Ordinarily the library meeting spaces are to be used for auditorium style seating arrangements or conference table configurations with appropriate seating. Those groups requesting meeting space
For sit-down dining or other food arrangements as part of their program must provide and arrange for setting up tables and chairs for the occasion in advance. The entire program should be discussed with Library personnel well in advance so the occasion is well organized and successful.
Special care should be taken that any heating devices under chafing dishes are safe from tipping over or starting and kind of fire. When in doubt, please ask. Lavatory facilities are in the Library Proper. When the Library is open for public service, these rooms are kept locked.
Keys are available at the Circulation Desk upon request.

Ryder Art Gallery: 100 seats
Upper Art Gallery: 75 seats
There is a small gallery kitchen with sink in the Maccario and Conference Rooms. A microwave oven and small bar size refrigerator is available for use in the Maccario Room. A limited number of tables (no more that 4 six foot tables); plastic seats and a Lectern are available. Morning programs must start no earlier than 9:30 AM; all evening programs must end by 8:45 PM when the library closes at 9:00 PM or at 5:45 PM when the Library closes at 6:00 PM. Any furniture, audiovisual equipment or other needed supplies must be provided by the group booking the room.
It is strongly urged that you make arrangements to see the facility in advance.

The Malden Public Library offers a wide range of programs each week to the public, a number of which are organized by non-profit organizations. If you would like to inquire about holding your public program at the Library, please refer to the policies and procedures below and contact Judy at 781-324-0218.
Due to availability and publicity efforts, please submit any program requests at least 6 weeks prior to the preferred date.
Large Meeting Space
Community room space is available to 501c3 non-profit organizations holding meetings that are free and open to the public, based on the policies and procedures outlined by the Board of Trustees.
All meeting room requests must be submitted at least 6 weeks prior to the preferred date, are granted on a first come, first served basis, and based on availability. No organization should use the Library as its primary meeting place. Please contact Judy at 781-324-0218 for availability.
Small Meeting Space
The Malden Public Library is now offering private meeting rooms for patron’s use. The Library has 2 meeting rooms, each accommodating up to 3 people.
Reserve your meeting room online:
Select the day and time of your visit.
Click on “Reserve Room”
Fill in your library card number
Come to the Library and check in with the staff to gain entrance to the room.
Patrons must check in to the study room within 15 minutes of their reservation. Otherwise, the room will be released to another person.
Only one room reservation will be available per person per day. Rooms can be reserved up to 2 times per 7 days.
Requirements:
Must have an Adult Library Card within the MBLN network
Library Card must be in good standing
Patron must be a resident of Malden
If you do not check into the room within 15 minutes, the study room reservation will be forfeited.
