Description:
An evening of unique musical storytelling by world class musicians from Cyprus, Palestine, US, and Turkey.
The Ize trio is a multi-cultural music ensemble featuring Californian Pianist Chase Morrin, Cypriot percussionist George Lernis, and Palestinian cellist Naseem Alatrash. The Ize Trio will perform original music, stories of immigration, resistance, and resilience. They will also pay homage to their respective backgrounds and cultures of Palestine, Cyprus, and the United States.
Joining them for a few selections will be virtuoso Turkish vocalist Heiraza, arrangements of Middle Eastern classics, and music for the future.
“An inspired, unique trio.… The sound textures, multi-cultures, and revolutionary spirit of this project makes each movement a new adventure. The thought of finding such beauty and innovation, using a trio of piano, percussion and cello, is quite unique and surprising.” - Dee Dee McNeil S, Making a Scene
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the City of Malden, this concert is free. However, donations are welcome - as additional acknowledgement to the musicians.
Reception will follow the concert.
